Tip of the Week
Relevant Information
Seek out relevant, rather than just easily available, information when you make decisions. There is a strong tendency to place a lot of emphasis on information just because it is easily attainable. For example, current stock prices and earnings are readily available, but is this information the most meaningful for projecting a company’s future performance?
So What?
Placing greater emphasis on available information rather than relevant information may save time but it may also lead to making biased decisions.
